Martelle Lens Co. is committed to making this Site usable for everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that meeting clients where they are — including how they access the web — is part of doing this work well.
Our commitment
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These are the same guidelines referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for public-facing websites in the United States.
What we do
- Provide descriptive alternative text for content images;
- Use semantic HTML, headings, and landmarks so screen readers can navigate the page;
- Support full keyboard navigation, including the portfolio lightbox (arrow keys, Esc);
- Maintain visible focus indicators for keyboard users;
- Pair form fields with descriptive labels and clear error messages;
- Test for color-contrast ratios that meet or exceed WCAG AA;
- Avoid auto-playing audio, flashing content, or motion that could trigger discomfort;
- Honor the operating-system “reduce motion” preference for animations.
Known limitations
Accessibility is ongoing work, not a finish line. We are aware of and actively improving the following:
- Some older portfolio images may have generic alt text; we are reviewing them and adding more descriptive alternatives.
- Third-party tools we use (Pixieset for galleries, Resend for transactional email) have their own accessibility profiles that we cannot directly control.
- Decorative typography (Cormorant Garamond italic) may be harder to read at very small sizes; please use your browser’s zoom or reader mode if needed.
