Martelle Lens Co. (“Martelle Lens,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to martellelens.comand any related services we offer (collectively, the “Site”).
1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly to us and a limited amount of technical information automatically.
Information you give us
- Booking inquiries — your name, email address, phone number (optional), preferred session type, location, date, and any notes you include.
- Contact form submissions — your name, email, and message.
- Session communications — any information you send by email, Instagram DM, or text in connection with a session.
Information collected automatically
- Hosting logs — our hosting provider (Vercel) records basic request data such as IP address, user-agent, timestamp, and requested URL for security and reliability purposes.
- Photographs — when you book and attend a session, we create photographs of you and any other people attending. The use of these photographs is covered by your booking agreement (see our Terms of Service).
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to inquiries and confirm session details;
- Deliver photographs and online galleries;
- Process payments and issue receipts;
- Send service-related emails (booking confirmations, gallery links, prep guides);
- Keep the Site secure and operational; and
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
3. Who we share information with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information only with the limited service providers that help us run the studio:
- Resend — sends transactional emails (booking confirmations, replies). Privacy policy.
- Vercel — hosts the Site and stores hosting logs. Privacy policy.
- Sanity — content management system used to manage Site copy and images. Privacy policy.
- Pixieset — delivers your final image gallery. Privacy policy.
- Payment processor — if you pay an invoice, your payment information is handled directly by the processor (such as Stripe or PayPal). We never receive or store full card numbers.
- Legal — we may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
4. How long we keep information
- Inquiry data — kept for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless you book a session.
- Booked sessions — contact, booking, and invoice records are kept for at least 7 years to comply with U.S. tax and recordkeeping requirements.
- Photographs — final delivered galleries are kept on Pixieset for the period stated at delivery; archival copies of selected images may be retained indefinitely for portfolio purposes (subject to Section 7).
- Hosting logs — retained per our hosting provider’s standard log policies.
5. Cookies & tracking
The Site currently uses only the strictly necessary cookies required for it to function (for example, security and routing cookies set by our hosting provider). We do not use third-party advertising trackers, Meta Pixel, or behavioral analytics. If we add analytics or tracking in the future, we will update this policy and present a consent banner where legally required.
7. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain uses. These rights are described under, among others, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the Florida Digital Bill of Rights (FDBR), the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and Canada’s PIPEDA.
To exercise any of these rights — including asking us to remove your photographs from our public portfolio — email martelle.lens@gmail.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We will respond within 30 days. We do not discriminate against anyone who exercises their privacy rights.
Do Not Sell or Share. We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Security
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls on third-party services, and limited internal access. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Site is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Photography sessions involving minors are booked by a parent or legal guardian who provides consent on the minor’s behalf.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective” date at the top of the page. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, by email if we have one on file).
